(10 points each, complete in sketchbook)
1. Draw three objects from your room. Set them up as a still life, with each one overlapping slightly. Must be drawn larger than the palm of your hand. I
2. Redesign the cover of an album or book you like. Make it unique and original! Use color.
3. Find a photo from the internet, a magazine, newspaper, etc. Cut off part of the photo, and glue the remaining portion into your sketchbook. Remake the rest of the photo (different from the original) as an extension of it. Be creative and unique- the weirder the better!
4. Draw the outline of your silhouette (side profile). Inside, fill the space with doodles. Must be jammed packed-no blank areas. Complete using ink/pen.
5. Draw the offspring of two (or more) improbable animals. Be detailed and show textures.
6. Library Bookmark contest, use at least two medias, no blank white space. PLUS, go visit the the staff art show! Room 60 at lunch. Write about two pieces (4-5 sentences) other than Ms. Dixon's work.
7. Draw/paint/collage (your choice) a piece of art that expresses an emotion. Use the whole page, no blank, white space.
8. Make a piece of art in the style of Andy Warhol (pop art). Should show repetition and color variety.

2. Come up with a design you think would be cool a mural on the outside wall of our classroom ( Room #109)... Anything you would want to see there everyday when you come to school.
3. Draw out the hand symbols/signs for each letter of a word using American Sign Language (ASL). Any word, with any arrangement/placements, colors etc. Google ASL to find images of hand signs and the alphabet.
4. Use an old children's book to create a 2D or 3D piece of art.
5. Draw a famous individual as a vegetable or fruit.
6. Visit the the staff art show! Room 60 at lunch. Write about two pieces (4-5 sentences) other than Ms. Dixon's work.

In your sketchbook, write down the artist's name, website or link to their work, and a paragraph that gives a few sentences of bio background (if available), as well as a few sentences summarizing the artist's style and work. Draw a sketch of one the artist's pieces that you enjoy.

3. Draw a self-portrait. Fill in the background with a geometric or organic abstract design. Color the background ONLY. The whole page should be used.
4. Lightly trace the outline of your hand and start of wrist/arm. Fill in the entire inside area with doodles. Must be done in ink/pen, with no large, blank spaces.
5. Draw the off-spring of two (or more) improbable animals. Be detailed and show different textures.

10. Use the internet to find a contemporary artist whose work you find interesting.
